Emotions Smart Notebook

Slide 1: It is important children learn to recognize feelings and emotions in order to express themselves and understand others.
Slide 2: Often times when children go to the doctors offices they are given a feelings chart which shows pictures ( different faces) so children can visually show another person how they are feeling. Children as well as  adults, often have trouble putting feelings into words.

Slide 3 and 4: These two slides allow children to identify different situations they may encounter on a daily basis and help them match a "typical" emotion that goes along with it. These two slides allow the children to place the emotion label in the blank spot and than check their answers by dragging the question mark from the right hand corner to the left hand corner.

Slide 5: Different occasions are considered to bring about different emotions, it is important children can recognize what emotions they feel at different events. Children can place the event they feel goes appropriately with a specific emotion in the venn diagram, the child can than check their answer by dragging the question mark from the right hand corner to the left hand corner.

Slide 6: Children should learn that it is acceptable to feel any emotion and should express their feelings with others. Although, we may always want to be "green" or happy that is not always the case, so when we are sad just like at a red light we should stop and try to understand where our unhappiness is coming from.
